Amanda was much mostly inactive during Season 1. For unknown reasons, Ryan ultimately decided to turn his back on her for the season, targeting her and ultimately evicting her during his second HOH reign.
Amanda had a strange style of gameplay. Though initially getting on the nerves of some HouseGuests, she eventually found a niche as an under-the-radar player during the season. Amanda's gameplay became more prominent around Week 6, during which Logan had nominated Misty and Katniss, and she became a swing vote. She ultimately sided with Katniss, evicting Misty. In Week 7, she was nominated as a post-veto nominee against Logan by Dante. Despite accusations that she had been working with Katniss and Natasha, she survived, with Dante ultimately saving her in his tie-breaking vote. Amanda won HOH the following week, and with encouragement from Mya, nominated Katniss and Mickey in an effort to evict Katniss. Mickey saved himself with the veto, prompting her to choose Natasha, Katniss' closest ally, as the replacement nominee. The following week she teamed up with Mya to evict Natasha when Dante saved himself with the veto. In the final 4, Dante nominated her against Mya, recognizing the two had been working together to control much of the endgame. Mya won the power of veto, however, and evicted Mickey. At that point, Amanda was guaranteed to reach the final, since Dante and Mya had been gunning for each other as the strongest players in the game. Mya managed to win the final HOH and evict Dante, bringing Amanda to the end. Amanda ultimately lost in a 5 to 2 vote, with Mickey and Natasha voting for her.
Amanda was initially placed on Exile Island due to the odd number of contestants on Survivor: Samoa. Despite initially threatening to walk from the game, she found an idol and integrated herself into the Esera tribe after they voted out Morgan. She barely kept herself afloat before the merge by submitting competitions and pointing the target towards weaker figures on the tribe like Wonder and Ash. At the swap, she was pulled into an alliance with En and Keitaro, but a counter-alliance formed and set their sights on En, with Keitaro flipping in the revote to avoid drawing rocks and leaving Amanda alone once again come merge. The original Esera tribe chose to include her in the plan to Pagong the original Tautu, and Keitaro, Misty, and Kai fell victim to the Pagonging until several of her tribemates flipped and took out Ping, then her vote was stolen by Ashley and Nagazu was voted out. With an idol still in her pocket, Amanda chose to play it at the final 5 despite having sufficient connections with all five sides to avoid having any votes cast against her. She chose to finish the Tautu Pagonging, reaching the final 3 with Saku and Eagle, where she finished in third place, with only Misty voting for her to win. Due to the tie between Saku and Eagle, Amanda was required to break it. She gave the win to Eagle.
Host Opinion[]
I was disappointed that Amanda was so inactive during the season. Her fights with Ellie during her first short term were very entertaining, and more of those would've been welcome. Ultimately, she still played a good social game, but she left herself expendable due to his inactivity.
Even though Amanda served as a coaster for most of the season, her game was better than most with similar titles. Amanda was a decent player, and even despite being somewhat inactive in the season, she was still a capable player who wasn't afraid of making big moves. Unfortunately, there were so many big names which played such amazing games that she got buried. Amanda was the target of a lot of criticism by the audience, some related to her gameplay and some personal. I (Amur) want to say that Amanda did not deserve the personal criticism she received, and that bullying is not okay.
