Survivor: Samoa is the first season of Maple Leaf Studios' Second Era. The season officially began with the cast reveal and marooning on March 22, 2022. The season ended on April 25, 2022 with Eaglecrye 3901 winning against Bigbrotherfan26 and ShadowRXQ

Production

The season was produced by Host William with input from Amur and Jose.

Twists

• Exile Island: Due to there being an odd number of castaways, one randomly selected castaway was placed on exile island for the first round of the game. That player, Amanda, was immune for the first elimination and would join whichever tribe lost a number. Esera ended up going to the first tribal, with Amanda replacing Morgan following her elimination.

• Steal a Vote: A steal a vote advantage was hidden on the wiki. Whoever found it was able to nullify another player's vote and use an extra vote at any tribal council before the final 6. Saku found it and gifted it to Ashley, who ironically used it to cancel Amanda's vote to vote twice against Saku.

Fifteen castaways were introduced, with Ash, Eagle, Morgan, Nagazu, Ping, Saku, and Wonder being placed on the yellow Esera tribe, Ashley, En, Kai, Keitaro, Michael, Misty, and Monk being placed on the red Tautu tribe, and Amanda being sent to Exile Island. Quickly, Saku, Monk, and Amanda found idols on their respective tribes.

Esera lost the first three immunity challenges, resulting in a purge of inactive players Morgan, Wonder, and Ash and leaving just 5 original Esera against the original 7 Tautu. Alliances formed: a trio between Eagle, Nagazu, and Ping on Esera, an unofficial quad between Ashley, Michael, Misty, and Kai on Tautu, and a trio between Keitaro, En, and Monk on Tautu.

The tribes swapped after 3 rounds, sending Eagle, Nagazu, Ping, Kai, Misty, and Monk to Tautu and Amanda, Saku, Ashley, En, Keitaro, and Michael to Esera. Tautu lost the fourth challenge, fracturing and showing two new trios: Eagle, Kai, and Nagazu and Misty, Monk, and Ping. Due to Monk's inactivity, however, Misty and Ping flipped and Monk was voted out unanimously. Esera lost the following challenge and did the same, with Amanda, En, and Keitaro targeting Michael while Ashley, Michael, and Saku targeted En. Keitaro ultimately flipped on the revote, sending En packing as the final pre-juror and the final pre-merger.

At the merge, Saku found the steal a vote advantage. The original Esera reconsolidated, while Tautu remained fractured and clinging onto their post-swap alliances. This allowed a chaotic vote to take out Keitaro, followed by a string of near-unanimous votes which took out Misty and Kai. At the final 7, however, Ashley picked up on the Pagonging of Tautu and flipped Eagle and Saku to Tautu's side, taking out Ping and convincing Saku to give her his steal a vote. This would lead to another chaotic tribal at the final 6, in which Michael and Nagazu both self-voted. Ashley told Eagle and Saku to target Nagazu in the hopes that he would vote for someone else and she could steal Amanda's vote and, alongside Michael, take out Saku. Nagazu and Michael both self-voted, however, so despite using Saku's steal a vote against him, Saku survived, Nagazu was voted out, and the trust between Eagle, Saku, and Ashley was shattered. As a result, Ashley and Michael were taken out by Amanda, Eagle, and Saku over the next two tribal councils, reaching the finale together. At the final tribal council, Eagle eloquently laid out why he should win, while Saku was praised by some jurors for his aggressive gameplay throughout the season. The vote ended up tying between Eagle and Saku, with Amanda breaking the tie and crowning Eagle the sole survivor.
